Repertoire Development Webinar: 4 Decades of Familiar Music

This event is 4:00 pm EASTERN TIME (3:00 pm Central, 2:00 pm Mountain, 1:00 pm Pacific).

To recognize MHTP’s 4th decade this repertoire development webinar focuses on familiar music across four decades (50s, 60s, 70s and 80s).

What are your “go-to” songs from one or more of these four decades of music that you can share with your colleagues that would benefit patients in certain conditions? Expand your own therapeutic repertoire from the other participants’ ideas and tunes for familiar music spanning the 1950s through the 1980s.

Attendees receive copies of all the submitted music, the recording of the webinar, and CEU certificate.

After being contacted by the webinar facilitator, each attendee will provide via email to the webinar facilitator one of their "go-to" familiar songs of each of the four decades, for a total of 4 songs, prior to the webinar. Include: titles of music they will be sharing, copies of the music and if known, any copyright free access to the music.

During the webinar, be prepared to briefly demo and/or say why it is a favorite of yours to use therapeutically.

Each two-hour repertoire development webinar is $45. CMPs earn 2 CEUs. Grads of other programs earn CEUs. Facilitated by Melinda Gardiner, CMP, Module 1 Teacher

Melinda Gardiner, CMP, RN,  has an extensive background in Integrative Healing modalities and has been teaching in the field since 1970 in Boston, Massachusetts. She taught Therapeutic Touch and other holistic therapeutic modalities at Columbia-Greene Community College, Hudson, New York, from 1985 to 1995. Melinda began playing the harp in 1987 and participated in Don Campbell's Sound School in the 1990s. Melinda has conducted workshops and retreats in integrating spirituality and music since 1994 and has taught for MHTP since 1997. She graduated from MHTP in 1998 and since then has worked as a CMP in hospitals, nursing homes, and hospices.  She was President of the Board from Fall 1998 until 2003, and Executive Director of MHTP from 2004 to Spring 2017.

Important notices you agree to:

  1. Webinar registration form and payment must be received by MHTP at least 7 days prior to each webinar.

  2. I must participate in the webinar by playing/demonstrating appropriate repertoire.

  3. I must provide the facilitator examples (names and source if known) of repertoire for the webinar’s topic. Facilitator will notify me about sending this information.

  4. I will set up a free Zoom account for the webinar (Facilitator will send instructions).

  5. I must complete the class evaluation form at the end of the webinar to receive all take-home information.

If you have a request for a type of repertoire that you would like to gain more experience on, please email the MHTP CEO.

Cancellation: If MHTP cancels a webinar because of too few participants (less than five (5)) or any other reason, all participants will be notified via email and will receive a full refund ($45). If a participant must cancel, that participant should immediately notify MHTP’s Registrar. If a participant cancels more than one (1) week in advance, a full refund will be given. If a participant cancels less than one (1) week in advance, no refund will be given, as last-minute cancellations could make the number of participants too small for a webinar to be viable. “One (1) week” is defined literally; i.e., exactly seven (7) days prior to the scheduled start of a webinar (e.g., for a webinar scheduled for 8PM Eastern on January 14, “One (1) week in advance” is 8PM Eastern on January 7). NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN IF YOU ARE NOT AN MHTP STUDENT OR CMP OR STUDENT OR GRADUATE OF ANOTHER THERAPEUTIC MUSIC PROGRAM.
